Equilibrium configurations in a magnetic fluid-based field mapping and gas pressure measuring system: Experiment and simulations

In this work, we present a measurement system based on the thin layer of magnetic fluid aimed at scanning either non-uniform field distribution applicable for levitation systems (MagLev) or determining small excess gas pressure. The key idea is photo registration transparent air-filled cavity formed in due to balancing pressure and emerging forces. As result, contour lines 3D space visible. It shown that theoretical analysis numerical simulations are consistent with experimental results.
